How to Secure: Xbox Accounts


Step 1: Changing the Password

Once you log in to the account account, go to this page to change your password. For extra security you can also enable to the option to make you change your password every 72 days.
Step 2: Changing Security Contact Info

Go to the security info page here, and add your own contact info. Add as many as you can just in case you lose access to any of them. This will be used for password resets and to verify any suspicious login attempts. Make sure you delete the previous info, after you've added your own.
Step 3: Changing the Primary Alias

Go to this page and add an email. You can make a new one or use an existing email. Once you've added a new email, make it the primary email & remove the previous one. This is what you will be using to login to your account.
Step 4: Removing Billing Information

If there is any billing info on the account, you will want to go here and replace everything.
Step 6: Removing Devices

Go to this page and remove any devices by clicking show details > manage > remove
Step 6: Removing Xbox 360 Consoles

If the account has been on any Xbox 360 consoles, go to here and remove them.

Extra Security Options

You can find extra security options such as 2FA and set up a recovery code on this page.
